Fusion partner, experienced podcaster Beccy Dye, has been delivering an exciting new project giving pupils the mic and putting them in control of creating a podcast series all about transition. Designed as a “by young people, for young people” production, the project introduces children and young people to podcasting while supporting them to explore their own experiences of moving from Year 6 to Year 7.

Made possible thanks to funding from Great Childhood’s Ambition, the podcast will serve as a guide for children facing transition in the future.  And it will help the children facing it now.  It will help them articulate how they feel, frame their questions, and gain answers to these.

Alongside building technical skills to create a podcast, young people have shaped the content of the series, developing and refining the questions they want to ask about transition, and exploring hopes and fears to help them develop resilience at what can be a difficult time.
